The Muhammad Cheng Ho Mosque is a historic building in the City of Surabaya. There is much you can see than just the unique architecture. The building is a mix of different cultures. You can feel the influence of the Middle East architecture. It also has a strong oriental appeal. Just come here to enjoy up close the stunning construction. It can be reached from many directions. If you want to get there, it is actually located in Gading Street, Genteng, Surabaya. It is only 1 km to the north of the City Hall of Surabaya. This is not far from the Kusuma Bangsa Heroes Cemetery.

In his journey, he not only befriended many people, but also spread the Teachings of Islam. It was the reason why he is highly respected by many. The idea to construct this building was from the board of PITI. The laying the first stone was done in October, 2001. It was fully established by the end of 2002. The building was built on an area of 21×11 m2. The architectural design looks quite old. It comes as no surprise as it was built in the past. Well, it looks a lot like a Pagoda. At a glance, it looks magnificent and luxurious. You will be more impressed after entering the building. Every part of it is ornate enough. The mosque has a capacity of 200 people. The unique architecture is one of the lures. It has a mix of different cultures. Aside from the Chinese and Middle East cultures, you can see the influence of the local culture through some parts, like the walls.
